Opening of NBP branch in Bishkek is attributed to the desire of the Government of Pakistan to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries and also to give impetus to trade through Grand Silk Road, between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China and Pakistan, in consequence of the agreement already executed between all the four countries.
NBP Bishkek branch has won the confidence of vast segments of societies, various International organizations, Embassies and NGOs during short span of time. It works through international payment system SWIFT (NBPAKG22) and large network of domestic and overseas branches, and also is an active participant of internal foreign exchange and security (STB, Notes of NBKR) markets through automated trade system. In order to promote the local currency of Kyrgyz Som, the Bank provide services on very nominal charges are being recovered from the clients. NBP also deals in foreign currencies on very reasonable charges where it doesn't charge for A/c opening and A/c maintenance, in a bid to stimulate the banking activities in Kyrgyz Republic.
